PF Racing is excited to be back in the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge for a full season in 2020 following a successful maiden season 2019 during which the team ran a Ford Mustang GT4 entry with James Pesek and Jade Buford.
Fresh after a conclusive 3-day test, PF Racing is now ready to tackle the first event at Daytona International Speedway, and the rest of the season. The team participated at the Roar Before the 24, trying out different set up in preparation for the first 4-hour race of the season, which will take place on the road course of the mythical oval on January 24.
James Pesek, Jade Buford, and Shane Lewis took turn behind the wheel of the #40 Ford Mustang GT4. On the first and second days, the Harrisonville outfit made promising progress with the help of the driver’s educated output. On the third day, James Pesek took advantage of the two hour-long sessions to test out the car and set it up to his taste.
PF Racing was assisted by Multimatic Motorsports, who was not only at the track representing Ford Performance but who also has three entry for the Daytona 4-hour Endurance. The Canadian organization will be fielding the #15, #22, and #19 car with Scott Maxwell and Marco Signoretti, who will be taken care of by the PF Racing crew.
“I am very happy with how the car ran this weekend,” said 23 years old James Pesek. “We got to test a few setups, and I got to clock in a lot of laps on the last day, which prepared me very well for the main event at the end of the month. The Michelin tires were excellent as usual, the durability of the tires is always impressive considering how harsh the banking can be and how fast we can get through fresh sets of tires.”
After the first event of the season at Daytona International Speedway, the team will be heading to Sebring in March, then will get on with the rest of the 2020 season. “We are very happy to be back for a second full season,” said JR Pesek, team owner.
“The Michelin Pilot Challenge is a competitive series with excellent drivers, teams, and cars and we feel that, after our maiden season and our experience we acquired, we are ready to tackle this new challenge. We are thrilled to start the year with not only our #40 full-time entry, but also with the #19 car, which proves that the Ford Mustang GT4 is one of the most prized cars on the field because of its reliability and performance, and as a team, Multimatic’s trust in our crew is a testament of our capability.”
“We are also pleased to confirm that Jade Buford and Shane Lewis will be joining James driving the #40 machine for the 4-hour endurance race.” Concludes JR Pesek.
