Fresh off a podium finish during the SRO Winter Invitational finale at The Thermal Club last month, PF Racing is ready to tackle the streets of St-Petersburg, Florida. The Missouri-based team will be competing in the second event of GT4 America, which will be starring in the IndyCar long-awaited season opener.
“I had a lot of fun in the streets of St-Pete last year,” said James Pesek, driver of the #40 Ford Mustang GT4. “I am glad to be back at this urban track, which always brings a great challenge because of the street course. It’s not a smooth track, and it’s very tight with the walls being so close, which makes the races all the more thrilling.”
It will be PF Racing’s third participation in this race. In 2018 and 2019, Jade Buford had claimed victory for the team; “It is a good track for us,” continues Pesek. “Our car is strong on this street course, so I’m excited to race!”
The schedule was shifted around due to COVID-19 concerns. Unfortunately, this event will be held behind closed doors, but the two main GT4 America races will be broadcast live on the GT World YouTube Channel. “We are happy to be racing this weekend, many events were canceled around the world,” said Pesek. “We are grateful that SRO, along with IndyCar, took the best decision to keep us safe while allowing us to race.”
Race 1 is now at 3:45 pm ET on Saturday, and Race 2 remains at 12:10 pm on Sunday.
