Harrisonville’s PF Racing is headed to the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course this weekend for a very special event. With the many shifts in the 2020 calendar due to the on-going pandemic, IMSA decided on a double-headed for the Michelin Pilot Challenge this weekend.
James Pesek and Chad McCumbee will take the wheel of the #40 Ford Mustang GT4 for two two-hour endurance races, the first one being Saturday afternoon and the second one Sunday morning.
“This track is perfect for the Ford Mustang,” explained Pesek. “There are a lot of corners which will help us as we have been struggling with the restrictive BoP. The Mustang’s strength in downforce will suit the tracks features very well.”
Chad McCumbee still has in mind the podium that the team came close to claiming at Road Atlanta; “I feel like we have a momentum from an overall positive weekend in Atlanta, as a team, we had a chance at a podium.” He finished by echoing Pesek’s thoughts: “the track layout in Ohio should fit our Mustang well. I am looking forward to continuing our progress this week.”
The first Mid-Ohio 120 for the IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge will start at 1:05 pm ET and will be live on Track Pass. Sunday’s race will begin at 10:35 am ET and will also be broadcast live on Track Pass.
