Road Atlanta has always meant something special for PF Racing. Not only is this Georgia track where James Pesek made his professional racing debut in Trans Am, but it’s the track where he made his IMSA Michelin Pilot Challenge debut in 2018.
“I’ve always loved this track,” explained the driver of the #40 Ford Mustang. “It means a lot for me to be back where it all started. Road Atlanta has an old school feel to it; I love the layout and the elevation. It’s a very technical track, and it suits my driving style.”
This weekend, and for the remainder of the season, Chad McCumbee will be back in the team, wearing his brand new pink fire suit to match the team’s pink Mustang GT4. “It will be great to be back with James and PF Racing this weekend in Atlanta,” said Chad, who had to miss a few events due to prior engagement in Late Model racing. “I hate that I missed the last two events, but l am looking forward to picking up where we left off at Sebring with a strong performance.”
This will be the second and final 4-hour endurance race of the season, “four hours is a long time, on a tough track… but I feel confident about our ability to get a good result,” concluded Chad.
At Daytona in January, the Missouri outfit had finished 11th during the 4-hour endurance, relying on flawless pit stops and a brilliant strategy to achieve such a feat. This time again, PF Racing will aim for a Top 10 finish.
